DANIEL S. SIMON

Principal Attorney & Founding Shareholder

Mr. Simon practices primarily in the areas of business law, including business start-ups, acquisition and disposition of business assets, business dissolution, real estate law, corporations, securities law, contracts, estate planning, probate, wills and trusts. Prior to opening Dan Simon Law Offices, Dan was a member of Evans & Dixon, L.L.C. and a part of its business services team.

Dan graduated from Washburn University with his degree of Juris Doctorate in 1996 and is admitted in the Missouri and Kansas Bar Associations.  During law school, Mr. Simon was a member and officer of the Phi Delta Phi legal honor fraternity.  

Dan is a 1999 graduate of the Columbia Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Columbia class.  He co-chaired the Attorney Section of the Professional Division of the 1998 and 1999 Columbia, Missouri area United Way Fund Raising Campaigns.  He is a former member of the Rotary Club of Columbia, Missouri.  

Mr. Simon is a frequent lecturer and has presented on real estate and technology in real estate for The Missouri Bar. He also lectured on estate planning for the 2014 Missouri Bar’s Annual Estate and Trust Institute.

Mr. Simon successfully defended an estate matter from the trial court to the Supreme Court of Missouri. Mary Ellison, Arthur Fry, David Fry, and Susan Sleeper, Appellants/Cross-Respondents vs. J.D. Outside Interests

Dan is married to Susan and keeps busy with four children, playing golf, soccer, softball, skiing and spending time with extended family in Kansas City, watching the Royals, the Chiefs and the Tigers. Dan is a member of Congregation Beth Shalom.
